Wildland Fire Preparation

WILDLAND FIRE PREPARATION

Due to the increased number of recent disasters, we encourage everyone to sign up for CodeRED emergency alerts at www.readynevadacounty.org. With the CodeRED system you will get an alert on your landline or cell phone in the event of a community-wide emergency.

In order to  understand whether your area is under an evacuation warning or order, you need to know your Zone Number.  Authorities will use Zone Numbers in emergency alerts to notify residents which areas are under evacuation warning or order. Go to www.community.zonehaven.com, enter your address in the search bar, find your zone in the pop-up window and WRITE IT DOWN!

Prepare for the possibility of an evacuation by following the following Four Steps:

#1 Identify five trusted people who will check on you and with whom you can communicate in case of an emergency.

#2 Plan on your Medical needs by maintaining a week-long supply of prescription medicines and equipment

#3 Assemble Go Bags for you and your Family with supplies, medicines and important documents

#4 Identify your Evacuation Routes. Stay informed and be ready to evacuate.

Here is a PREPLAN LIST that will assist you in determining what you should evacuate with. For more information, visit wwwReadyNevadaCounty.org
