The Rough and Ready Fire Department Auxiliary is a group of community members who actively work to support our Fire Department. We meet monthly (the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm) at the Fire station meeting room around back. We participate in a range of activities including making goodies for the firefighter training nights, and a variety of FUNdraising...with the emphasis on FUN. We still have cook-books for sale, at the market, and at any of our local events, with family favorite recipes from community members. New this year are coffee mugs, also down at the market. Each year we have a beautiful quilt to raffle off, we sell hot-dogs at the annual Secession Days and Chili-Cook-off, and we put on an annual Spaghetti Feed with the rest of the department. This year's Spaghetti Feed will be extra special, as it will be in honor of Rough and Ready's own Lillian Blakely who passed away this January. Lillian loved her community and her fire department, and for many years contributed BEAUTIFUL quilts for our raffle, and we are having this years dinner: “For the Love of Lillian”. Please mark your calendars for April 24th, and bring your memories of Lillian to share. If you lucky enough to own one of Lillian's beautiful quilts, we'd love to be able to display it...or at least a photo of it.
The Auxiliary welcomes guests and prospective members to our meetings. We'd love to meet you and hear your ideas. If you have any questions, feel free to call Rosie at 273-3659 or email me at Cme4storybooks@comcast.net
As always, thank you for all your support. We are so fortunate to live in an area that understands the importance of supporting the volunteers who work to keep us safe.
