Welcome to the Rough and Ready Fire Department!

We are a combination of paid fire personnel and volunteers. We primarily service the community of Rough and Ready, and also respond to our surrounding areas between Penn Valley and Grass Valley. Our staff responds to various types of 9-1-1 calls. Our station is staffed 24-hours a day by paid staff. During fire season, RRFD will respond with the Nevada County Strike Team to any large fire assignment or natural disaster.
